Music for your Friday
I don't know about you, but it's been a lonnnnnggggg week. I apologize for my lack of daily blog updates, but trust me, come Sunday evening I'll have some new adventures to post about.
In the meantime, I wanted to share the songs that have been getting me through this work week. Basically I've been obsessed with The Head and The Heart...and the others are good to :)
Enjoy. And happy Friday eve.

Homemade Reclaimed Wood Coasters
Brett made these amazing coasters for me about a month ago (insert cheesy statement of how great I think he is, I mean seriously, what can he not do?) and not only do they look great, but we use them everyday. More importantly they are made from reclaimed wood which if you haven't checked out all the cool products and companies doing amazing things with this, then look forward to another post on some of my favorites.
Yes, that is the actual picture of the actual coasters. (Obviously he took the picture and not me and my little Android)

No Sunday Night Blues Here...
This weekend my roomates and I went on a Fall trip. Basically, anything you can think of that would describe Fall, we did. The leaves were in full swing as we drove up to North Carolina, winding through the Nantahala Forest. We visited Highlands and Cashiers, saw the amazing, grammy award winning Nashville Bluegrass Band, and hiked in the Panthertown Valley. It was only 2 1/2 hours away, so you have no excuse for not getting out of the city and enjoying some of the fine, Fall foliage.
On our way back from our hike we stopped at the BEST restaurant in Cashiers, Cornucopia. The building has been there since the 1800s and it was packed! Once I saw sprouts + avocado I was sold..can't ask for much more.
In Highlands, we ran across Sallie of Sallie's Greatest! She had me at hello with her large sample tray of cheese and jam spreads. Then, when she threw in Garden and Gun I was sold. (Sallie recently won a Garden and Gun award for Made in the South.) She went on to explain how she started her company, and that never in her wildest dreams did she imagine all of this! I bought the Blueberry Lemon + Thyme spread which goes best with goat cheese (personal favorite) but her special edition Blackberry Spice + Sage just came out and it was a close second. Her website is also awesome, with great recipes and good gift baskets, not to mention she's not to far away in Cameron, Tennessee; basically if you like good jams, check her out. As Sallie's site says, it's jam good.
Sinceriously yours,
Courtney
(note: as this was a girls weekend, I was tasked with taking all of the photos, so these are just simple uploads from my Android, which I must admit aren't looking too shabby)

Ellijay Apple Festival
Everyone knows with Fall comes festivals, so when looking for things to do last weekend, the Georgia Apple Festival in Ellijay seemed like an obvious choice! (also, for those looking to do something this weekend, it's still on Saturday and Sunday!) For those that looked at the Sneak Peak earlier, see below for what was inside the bag...obviously that was an impulse buy...guess you can't beat a bowling ball for $5!?
If you do end up going, make sure you get a caramel apple. I loved the way they cored it and drizzled warm caramel over it which made it sooo much easier to eat than when its on a stick. Which was great, because I'm obviously the world's neatest eater. Hah.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Thursday, can't wait for tomorrow and the start of another WEEKEND! Almost there.

Friday Night Dinners
First thing to know about me, I love food. I more than love food. I love discovering new restaurants, trying new dishes, and just the excitement of heading out to a new place. However, actually cooking/making a meal is a different story. I spend hours pouring over recipes, only to shut the computer and just head to Chick-fil-a , McDonalds, okay I run to Burger King for an ICEE. But, all hope is not lost. Since moving to Atlanta I've finally started putting some of my hours of food blog loving into practice, and with that comes this first post. But please, don't get the impression that this is a cooking blog, hah if you only knew.
Thank you Food52 for your inspiration and to my favorite photographer! #food52 #cheeseplease
